The suburbs getting the really big energy discounts

Is yours one of them? Here are the postcodes where households are claiming big savings from large electricity and gas discounts.

If you’re in Gosford, Frankston, Robina or Parafield Gardens, you live in discount central!

Those are the postcodes that have seen the highest number of Aussie homes taking up the special discounted energy offers for 9Saver subscribers since they were launched a month ago.

In NSW, Gosford is followed by Camden and Kincumber, then Coffs Harbour.

In Victoria, it’s Berwick, then Werribee, and Frankston.

In Queensland, the Gold Coast postcodes around Robina and Beechmont are accessing the big discounts most, along with Goodna.

And in South Australia, they’re switching and saving most in Parafield Gardens, Hallett Cove and Fulham Gardens.

Most are surprised to learn how easy it is to dump their old provider for a better offer, with 88% saying the process was “easy” or “very easy”.

And most are expecting big savings from switching. Of 100 switchers surveyed,

  • 1 in 7 expect to save over $500 in the coming year,
  • 1 in 6 expect to save $300-$500,
  • 1 in 5 expect to save $150-$300, and
  • 1 in 4 expect to save $50-$150.

All up, that’s HALF of switchers expecting a saving of over $150, while about a quarter said they still “don’t know” what they will save.

More than 2 million households around the country changed their power company last year in an attempt to cut their power bills, and some homes can save hundreds or even over $1000, according to the Australian Energy Regulator.

So be sure to check out the special offers, closing soon. You can switch if you like the look of them, or do what 9Saver subscribers Angela and Keith form Victoria did and got a better offer from their current provider:

“We negotiated a better deal than before with our original provider on Electricity and Gas. 9Saver has definitely proven there is strength in numbers. Thanks heaps.”
